And january is often a time when a lot of anthologies are published, so that work you sold to them months ago finally sees the light of day. This January was no exception with SISTERS appearing in Theme anthology (Whortleberry Press) STRANGE CHANGES, A P.R.I.M. JOURNEY in THE WORLDS OF SCIENCE FICTION, FANTASY, AND HORROR …

New Articles out
It’s the time of the year when my consumer/recycling articles start appearing in our Saturday Supplement for local paper Dannevirke News. Less going on, available space needing to be filled, so THINGS TO DO WITH LEMON BALM appeared Jan.16th, COMMON BUT DEADLY HOUSE PLANTS appeared Jan 23rd. And WHAT’S NOT GOOD FOR YOUR PET (Plants) …
Busy Busy Books
No, I didn’t have much of a break over year’s end. If it wasn’t one thing it was another, the farm, visitors, writing small stuff and – then there were books. I celebrated my ‘break’ by completing revision on the Holmes book (Poisonous People) due to appear shortly, while at the same time writing the …
Story Sold
Yes, Grave Matters has been selected for publishing in the January issue of Devolution Z magazine. I was really pleased about it too. The story has a kiwi bachground, and I always like to find a home for one of those. Moreover it’s a punning title and a ghost tale, ticks all my boxes.
Two New Books Out!
my author copies arrived in the mailbox about six hours ago. Avalook Publications in Australia has published the third and fourth in my ‘Four Season’s quartet, WINTER OF WAITING and SPRING OF DECISIONS, the former has a great cover from Eleanor Clarke, and the latter is a photograph of my farm, looking across the Manawatu …
Various Articles and small items out
Yes, it’s a steady trickle of non-fiction stuff. October saw an article of mine on a very early detective author out in CADS UK. (LOOK WHAT YOU FIND WHEN YOU AREN’T LOOKING: GRANT ALLEN) While two short items appeared over November, one each in the NZ Woman’s Weekly, and That’s Life magazines.
Going Audio
Must be the season for it. First I heard that Lethe were doing my disaster novel – Vestiges of Flames (set in NZ) as audio, then I had an email from Wildside asking if I minded if my book, Sherlock Holmes: Beastly Mysteries did too. Not only do I not mind, I hugely looking forward …
Next story accepted.
My story SISTERS has just been accepted by the anthology STRANGE CHANGES coming from Whortleberry Press. This is another of my Luisa Garcia tales, and I had fun transposing a veteran LA cop to the wilds of the Uk, right into Iceni territory.
If You Love Sherlock
you may have bought the new three volume anthology of all new Sherlock Holmes stories out from MX Books in London. It’s available now to the public, they had the official launch the other week. AND I am now (happy happy joy joy) one of the authors from that anthology who has had my story …
And a Reprint sold.
A DAY OUT SHOPPING has been requested for an SF Trails reprint anthology tentatively entitled Heat of the Midday Sun. I originally wrote it for – and sold it to – an earlier one of their anthologies, so was happy to see it wanted a second time around. And as this publisher has been doing …
