New Story Out.

This one isn’t fictional, it’s quite true. It’s out in the SPCA’s latest issue of Animals” Voice and is titled Hare-Raising. One of the advantages of having a small farm and working from home is that I get to see the activities, not only of my farm animals, but also of some of the wildlife …

Next book on the way…

As I reported a few weeks back my publisher agreed to the next Daze book at Continuum 8, while we were both there. Since I returned from the convention I’ve been working on that and this morning I turned in the results. The artist has a list of possible chapter illustrations, the cover is in …

Story Sale

Delighted to announce that my story, a ‘weird western’ titled, I shall Do Nothing, has just been accepted by Hadrosaur Press’s Tales of the Talisman. The story is to appear in volume 8, issue 4 of the magazine scheduled for publication in Spring 2013.

Seventh DAZE scheduled.

If nothing goes wrong, AGRICULTURAL DAZE will be appearing early next year. This was after discussion with the publisher during the Australian national SF Convention (Continuum 8) which I attended, and the book was agreed for early 2013. The DAZE series has always been huge fun to write and it certainly has hung in there. …

And just before Queen of Iron Years, I also saw the second in my ‘four seasons quartet’ appear. AUTUMN OF THE WILD PONY (with a foreword from Julie Czerneda) is out from the Banana Oil Imprint of Cyberwizard Press in America, and I’m also very happy to see that book appear. It’s set a year …

The book  took Sharman and I four years work to complete so we’re extremely happy to see it available. It may be controversial, one main character is transsexual, the other main character is …

Continuing Good News

I started in on my emails the day after my return, to find that the August issue of Penumbra’s ezine has accepted my fantasy tale, Harpsong and Dreamsmoke. They note that they received over 800 submissions for that issue so I’m delighted that the story made it.

New Book Just Out

Yes, Autumn of the Wild Pony is now available as print or download on http://www.bananaoilbooks.com/autumn-of-the-wild-pony/  This is the sequel to Summer of Dreaming, and is the second in my ‘four seasons quartet.’ I’m eagerly waiting for the print copies – as is our local school which were promised a copy for the school library once …

An Afternoon Out

An invitation to speak on my children’s ‘Troll books” at a local school saw the artist (Judy Giddens) who did those with me, collect me early afternoon and whisk me away to chat to some 30 small children at the South School. It was pleasant, kids often ask penetrating intelligent questions and it’s always a …

Story sale

Yup, Over My Dead Body liked my story, The Truant, and have accepted it. This mystery magazine is one with which I’ve had a l..o..n..g association. I sold them a story not long after I began writing professionally, (which appeared back in spring of 1994, a hard-boiled detective parody – The Good Old Days.) So …
